Mark de Clive-Lowe, Melanie Charles, and Shigeto unite on Hotel San Claudio - a genre-fluid album and live performance experience that reimagines the legacy of spiritual jazz through the lens of contemporary beat-making, free improvisation, and diasporic storytelling.
The trio blends deep grooves, live electronics, and spontaneous musical dialogue, drawing on shared inspirations from Pharoah Sanders, cosmic jazz, hip-hop and house music. Featuring reinterpretations of The Creator Has A Master Plan and Love is Everywhere, the project honors Sanders’ spirit while pushing into new expressive territory.
Recorded in the hills of central Italy and developed across stages from Detroit to Brooklyn to London, Hotel San Claudio is as much a place as it is a state of being - a sonic meeting point for three genre-defying artists exploring sound, space and spirit.
